Imported products can be already labeled

The Ministry of Industry and Productivity (Mipro) reported on its website that the application instructions of Resolution 16049, signed on 3 February, has been already issued.

This resolution allows, in Ecuadorian territory, the process of labeling on goods subject to technical regulations that enter the country.

According to the Mipro, the instructions contain the provisions to be met by importers interested in participating in the process of labeling and re-labeling of these products as well as companies that will perform such work.

In addition, the importer may choose the relabelling once the National Customs Service observes the breach of technical regulations and the Undersecretariat of Quality opens a process that will be officially notified.
