Imprisoned Legislator charges her salary without working

Since she was arrested for alleged corruption, in May 2015, lawmaker Esperanza G. (who belonged to the ranks of Alianza PAIS) has continued to receive her monthly salary of $ 5,009 plus additional compensations, according to the website of the Assembly.

The lawmaker was sentenced to three years in prison for alleged bribery, but her defense raised an appeal. She is currently detained.

According to the Assembly, Esperanza G.´s alternates are the ones who charge her wage.
