By 2016, 90% of the energy needed by the country, will come from hydroelectric projects, said Minister of electricity and renewable energy, Esteban Albornoz, in an accountability act held yesterday in Cuenca.
He stressed that with the 8 hydroelectric megaprojects running in the context of the energetic sovereignty, it is expected to count on clean and renewable generation sources, which will be able to cater the needs of all the communities in the urban and rural sectors; and even to export the surplus of production to neighbouring countries.
The Minister mentioned that in 2016, the energy needed by the country will come from hydroelectric projects :Coca Codo Sinclair, Cardenillo, Sopladora, Minas-San Francisco, among others, whose productions will contribute to the change of the productive matrix.
