The disinfection of backpacks, hand washing, the use of masks and distancing were the tonic of the progressive and voluntary return to blended classes in authorized educational institutions, during the morning of this Monday, June 7, 2021.

At the EMDI School , located in the Los Chillos valley, adjustments were made in all the bathrooms, sinks were installed in the entrances, as well as gel dispensers at various points in the establishment. When the children arrived from second grade to third year high school adolescents, they were guided by teachers from the campus to wash their hands before entering their classrooms.
In addition, the rector of the campus, Hugo Íñiguez , pointed out that they acquired two steam disinfectant machines and more service personnel were hired to maintain the cleanliness of the different areas.
125 students attend this institution in person , at the request of their parents. In total there are 254 students enrolled and the campus has capacity for 800.
A total of 1,301 educational institutions throughout the country are authorized to make progressive use of their facilities . This represents 8% of the more than 16,000 nationwide. Most, more than 1,100, are in rural areas.
