Indonesia: Volcanic Eruption after Earthquake in Japan

Today, Karangetang Volcano erupted after the devastating earthquake of 8.9 degrees that slamed northeastern Japan.

The volcano began to spew clouds of gas and lava down its slopes.

Indonesian authorities have begun evacuating residents living in villages near the volcano. So far no information about any damage or casualties has been reported.
