In October 2013, the index of prices to the consumer (IPC, for its acronym in spanish) recorded the following variations: 0.41% monthly inflation; 2.04 the annual % and 2.09% the accumulated; whereas for the same month in 2012 was 0.09% monthly inflation; 4.94% the annual and 4.21% the accumulated. Food and non-alcoholic beverages division is contributed to inflation. Monthly inflation in this group was 1.05%.
The value of the basic family basket stood at 614,01 dollars, while family income (1.6 percipients) at 593,60 dollars, this implies a 96,68% coverage.
The Government of President Rafael Correa hopes to close 2013 with a 3.93% inflation, although the authorities have said it could be lower. In 2012, the rate was 4.16%.
