Infrastructure of the José Joaquín de Olmedo airport grows
The terminal of the José Joaquín de Olmedo Airport in Guayaquil went from having 53,000 to 60,000 square meters giving facilities to receive up to 7.5 million passengers per year. Until yesterday, the capacity was 4.5 million passengers per year.
Mayor Jaime Nebot, during the inauguration of the work, described the process that allowed the construction of the airport. He thanked to Former President Gustavo Noboa for his support and said that the terminal will continue growing.
He indicated that now, the national arrival area also has two new panoramic elevators, which add to one that was built eight years ago, when the airport was opened.
The expansion works of the airport began in November of last year. The work also includes dining and meeting areas for staff training.
Ángel Córdova, General Manager of Tagsa, the airport concessionaire, explained that the private company made an investment of $ 15 million in the terminal.
