iPhone and iPod Touch with an Application to Calculate Work Hours
Posted On 24 May 2011
Users of iPhone and iPod Touch can now keep track of their working hours and overtime wages through an application created by the Department of Labor.
“This application will give employees the power to understand and defend their rights when an employer deprives them of income they have earned through their efforts,” said Labor Secretary, Hilda Solis.
The theft of wages is common among immigrant workers who do not speak English or do not report their employers for fear of deportation. The researchers determined that some employees worked 70 hours a week and receiving less than minimum wage, in addition they do not get paid for extra time.
