Israel: Netanyahu dismissed two ministers and will anticipate elections
The prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, today ordered the cessation of finance ministers, Yair Lapid, and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, for their “opposition” to the government’s policy, according to his office said in a statement.
“In recent weeks, especially in the last day, the Lapid and Livni ministers have strongly attacked the government I lead. I will not tolerate more opposition inside my government or ministers who attack government policy neither who directs” argued Netanyahu.
He added that will request the dissolution of parliament “as soon as possible” so that the elections could be held in early 2015.
The Knesset, Israel’s parliament, will begin on Wednesday to review a bill of dissolution, which could end the same day or Monday, according to public radio.
Netanyahu is scheduled to appear before the media at 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT) to explain its decision after that in the last 24 hours tried to overcome their differences with both ministers.
