Jaime Nebot rejects the presence of Nicolás Maduro

The presence of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in the presidential inauguration of Lenin Moreno was not confirmed until last night, but the mayor of Guayaquil Jaime Nebot said Monday afternoon: “Most Ecuadorians reject his presence here.”
Nebot said that the reason for this rejection is not his ideology, but his behavior the with Venezuelan people. “We totally and frontally reject his attacks against democracy, freedom and human rights, as well as his model of government that has led the Venezuelan people to misery and unemployment.”
The mayor of Quito Mauricio Rodas also rejected the presence of Maduro.
