Javier Ponce is responsible for the purchase of the Dhruv helicopters, as he signed the contract, says legislator Salgado
The legislator Diego Salgado, of the Creo party, in an interview Ecuavisa pointed out former Defense Minister Javier Ponce, and current Ministry of Agriculture, as one of those responsible in the purchase of the seven Dhruv helicopters, four of them crashed, and in addition to the three dead members of the Ecuadorian Air Force (FAE), “becasuse he (Ponce) signed the contract.”
He also mentions FAE generals, members of the Technical Commission, the Audit Commission and the Commission on International Relations. Salgado said that the Dhruv purchase agreement should not have been signed.
Remember that former Defense Minister Fernando Cordero, said he had recovered the money from the insurance. “But this can not be, because the fifth article of the resolution, dated January 6, 2016, recently terminated the signed contract.”
Salgado said that 46 million dollars were misspent in the purchase of the Dhruv helicopters, plus the human casualties, and there are doubts about the death of a former commander of the FAE (Jorge Gabela).
