Why does Glas feel persecuted? Glas believes “there are two things that Odebrecht will never forgive me for.”
The first, for having expelled the company in 2008 and that, after knowing the US report on the fines, the government decided not to pay outstanding bills for 100 million dollars. The second, for having retained 27 million, in energy bonds said Glas, the company had negotiated in the Government of Gustavo Noboa. “These will not be paid,” he said. According to him, the decisions of the Government have cost 200 million to the Brazilian firm.
With that conviction, Glas assures that he will not leave his position even temporarily. He said he was willing to appear in the Legislature. “If they call me I will go and respond to the Audit Commission, I will speak with the legislators. I will go to all the instances I have to go,” he promised (I).
