Jorge Glas is part of the list of presidents and vice presidents investigated by the Odebrecht case in Latin America
Ecuadornews:
Judicial investigations in Latin America carried by the Odebrecht case have splashed some presidents and vice presidents. In Ecuador, the Prosecutor’s Office has already requested the arrest of Vice President Jorge Glas. A new investigation against him for the alleged crime of bribery has been opened.
But in nearby countries such as Peru and Colombia, inquiries have also splashed former presidents. For example, in Peru, the authorities have issued arrest warrants against Alejandro Toledo and Ollanta Humala. The latter’s wife has also been questioned.
Instead, in Colombia, the Office of the Prosecutor investigates the financing of the election campaign of current president Juan Manuel Santos. In Brazil, where the construction company is based, authorities track bribes given to current President Michel Temer when he was Vice-President of the former president Dilma Rousseff. She is also investigated for acts of corruption, as her predecessor and political leader Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. (I)
