Judge prohibits the vice president from leaving the country for Odebrecht case

Ecuador’s National Court of Justice today imposed on Vice President Jorge Glas a ban on leaving the country to guarantee the criminal investigation related to the Odebrecht case.

The court took into account, by request from the Office of the Prosecutor, that “upon being a constitutional vice-president,” he is required to “enjoy his right to mobility inside the country and a bodyguard service,” due to the position he holds. (I)
