Kate Middleton among the victims of phone hacking
During a hearing in the British Criminal Court in the wiretapping case, made by the daily News of the World, was revealed that the wife of Prince William, Kate Middleton, is part of a list of 18 names entitled “Target Evaluation,” found in 2006.
Like the Duchess of Cambridge, the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, is also in the list of people whose phones were to be heard by an employee of the British newspaper, owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
The former editors of News of the World, Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson are among the eight accused of this crime, who plead not guilty and are now free but are facing imprisonment.
Brooks and Coulson are accused of illegally listened in 2000 to more than 600 citizens, including celebrities such as actor Jude Law, involved in different events to get exclusive news. They are also being judged for corrupting officials in order to obtain information.
