Kaviedes arrested in Quito

Five days in jail and $ 28 fine was the penalty imposed on the player of Aucas soccer team, Jaime Ivan Kaviedes, who last night in Quito had an incident with two Police members.

The ruling was given by Judge Blanca Penaloza. “At the time I’ll talk about all of this,” said Kaviedes while he was taken to prison in the pretrial detention center of Pichincha.

Kaviedes was arrested at 23:30 last night, outside a liquor store in Magdalena area, south of Quito. According to the report given by Lieutenant Colonel, Fernando Perez, the UPC received a call reporting a public scandal. “The police arrived to the spot at Avenida Mariscal Sucre to verify the facts. Upon the arrival of the two policemen they saw the player (Kaviedes) who reacted in an aggressive way and said bad words,” according to Perez.

Perez confirmed the two police members attacked where Luis Gualpa and Nilo Guatucuamba. It is not yet determined if Kaviedes was intoxicated or not. (FL)
