Ki-moon promotes the eradication of AIDS in UN summit

During an introductory speech of the three-day summit of the United Nations, its secretary general, Ban Ki-moon said that in a period of 10 years the HIV virus will be eradicate worldwide.
“Today we gather to put an end to AIDS. Our goal is the end of AIDS in 10 years, no more new infections, no more injuries and deaths linked to AIDS. (…) But if we want to relegate AIDS to history books, we must be audacious,” Said Ki-moon.
He also exposed that one of the main objectives is to allow access to treatment for all patients and he promoted the application of new technologies in communication campaigns to reach the world.
