Because of her physical complications, Clijsters have turned down the tournaments in Tokyo and Pekin. Her abdominal pain started in Toronto, Canada. However this is not the first of her many injuries. She could not play in the Madrid and Rome tournament due to a bad shoulder and wrist.
Clijsters reappeared in Roland Garros, but could only reach the second round. Her right ankle left her out of the Wimbledon and the tournament of Carlsbad. In Toronto she had to withdraw from her match against the Chinese player Zheng due to abdominal pain. (AV)
