On Wednesday, the Auckland court judge ruled during the questioning that there was no special danger of escape. The other three partners of “Kim Dotcom”, who were also arrested on January 21 and were released on bail.
U.S. authorities indicate that Megaupload, which was the most popular platform for exchanging illegal copies of music and film, caused a damage of $ 500 million in damages for copyright infringement.
“Everything indicates that he has reasons to stay here with his family, struggling to maintain their heritage,” said Judge Nevin Dawson. Kim Dotcom is not allowed to use Internet and helicopters and can not leave from their home north of Auckland without permission.
