Kim Jong-Nam Under Chinese Protection
Posted On 26 Dec 2011
Kim Jong-Nam arrived in Beijing as Pyongyang prepares a state funeral for his father, the late North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. Seoul’s National Intelligence Service added that it was not clear if the son would attend Wednesday’s funeral in Pyongyang, Yonhap.
Kim Jong-Nam, 40, has lived in the Chinese territory of Macau for several years, since his father disgraced him for trying to enter Japan with a false passport in 2001.
It has been known that Jong-Nam is not on favour of hereditary succession. He was quoted saying, “Hereditary succession does no fit with socialism, and my father was against it as well.” (AV)
