The candidate of the opposition Guillermo Lasso has expressly referred to the candidate of the government´s party Lenin Moreno as “a puppet,” and has said “that he uses the whole apparatus of the State” to attack him, but that “he has no the manliness to discuss.”
During a harsh speech at night in Manta, after supporters of Lenin Moreno, led by the Secretary of Risk Management Susana Dueñas, prevented his entry to Daily El Diario, he said: “they throw eggs because they do not have them. They throw tuna cans because they have no ideas.”
On Friday, Lenin Moreno refused to debate in a TV program organized by CNN, and that would be led by journalist Patricia Janiot.
“Ecuador got tired of such hypocrisy, of puppets who use the whole state apparatus to attack me and do not have the manhood to debate,” Lasso told a crowd of thousand people gathered in Manta. “Employment, productive credit, and a free zone, so that Manabí becomes a new development pole for Ecuador,” he added.
