Law on Production Incentives will enter into last debate in the Assembly
Posted On 19 Dec 2014
The President of the Commission on Economic Regime, Oswaldo Larriva, announced that the President of the Assembly Gabriela Rivadeneira informed him that the second and final debate of the Incentives to the Production and Prevention of Fiscal Evasion draft law would be discussed on Monday.
Roberto Aspiazu, Executive Director of the Ecuadorian Business Committee (EEC for its Spanish acronym), presented a series of proposals to improve the bill. One is to lower the investment floor, wherewith employers may have greater incentives.
Aspiazu´s idea is to change the $ 100 million floor to $ 250,000. For Aspiazu as the project is, it becomes the eleventh tax reform in seven years, which does not give certainty to the sector nor promotes investment.
