Local companies plan to cover production in various sectors
Before the project of import substitution promoted by the government, companies like Fadesa, Industrias Ales and Pica have been proposed to increase its local production to supply demand inside Ecuador.
This, after the Foreign Trade Committee increased import requirements for products of 293 items. According to Ramiro González the measure would favor local production and reduce imports.
Eduardo Peña, president of the Chamber of Commerce if Guayaquil, said after a meeting between businessmen from Toys companies and Minister González last January 6, the company Pica committed itself to double its production of toys within a year.
The vice president of operations of Industrias Ales, Jose Antonio Uribe, said the company plans to enter the market with three new products in a medium term. Prior to the launch of the products they have to conduct a market research and carry out investment plan, said Uribe.
While Fadesa have captured the demand of the caps for drink bottles which was covered by foreign companies.
