Luis Chiriboga is called to trial as co-author of asset laundering in thr Ecuafutbol case
Judge Ana Lucia Cevallos accepted the request of the Attorney General´s office and decided to call Luis Chiriboga Acosta, former president of the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF), to trial, as “co-author of the crime of money laundering,” reported this morning the Public Ministry.
Likewise, accountant Pedro Vera, will be call to trial, while secretary Hugo Mora will face the process as “money laundering author.” These two former collaborators of the Chiriboga in the FEF are fugitives, but the judge requested the seizure of their assets and accounts.
In the case of Chiriboga Acosta, the judge ordered the continuity of his house arrest for being an elderly person. However, she also ordered the seizure of his properties, which must remain in the custody of the control agencies.
