Marcela Aguinaga dissapeared the evidence. The photos of the Correist affiliation campaign day that took place in the Guasmo Sur neighborhood she and the provincial leadership of Alianza Pais in Guayas uploaded to their Twitter accounts were deleted. In these photos she looked committed to political proselytism amid a deployment of promises: unsecured loans, affiliation of housewives to the social security, the sale of induction cookers, telephone service, utilities … Now, accused of using the assets and infrastructure of the State for purposes of political promotion, the vice president of the Assembly opted for a strategy that Stalinism became a classic: the disappearance of incriminating documents.
Now you can investigate. Before the two processes the are bearing (an investigation in the Contentious Electoral Tribunal and a special examination order by the National Audit Office) they only have to say: Ok, show me. And proving the guilt of Marcela Aguinaga is a task for agent Ethan Hunk, of Mission Impossible.
Let´s take, for example, the case of the audio that promoted the affiliation day held on July 2. It announces everything that then happened: the person who makes the invitation (Marcela Aguinaga and other assemblymen of her party), where it woud take place (in the Guasmo Sur neighborhood), why (to seek affiliations) and the state institutions that would be involved.
But it happens that the audio does not prove anything. Why? Because she did not “authored ir.” Who did it? She does not know. It was done by someone who is not from her party but she imagined something she would do on July 2 in the Guasmo Sur neighborhood. And on July 2, she went to the Guasmo Sur neighborhood and she did it. Her confession created a dilemma: either Marcela Aguinaga errs on the side of cynicism, or of stupidity.(I)
