Media from Manabi protested against an action of Alianza PAIS authorities

The protests staged last Saturday by supporters of the Alianza PAIS (PA) party outside the central plant of Ediasa, in Portoviejo, were cataloged by an editorial group as a “violent way of restricting freedom of the press,” according to a note from its editor published in Daily El Diario.
The protests, according to the editorial, were due to the announced arrival of the CREO candidate, Guillermo Lasso, who had to maintain a dialogue with different media.
An issue of Daily El Diario shoes, on page 16A, photographs of public officials who would have participated in the protests, in which, according to the publication, the vehicles that entered Ediasa were also requisitioned “to see if Lasso was not there.”
In the shots, according to the media, the governor of Manabí, Xavier Santos; The Secretary of Risk Management, Susana Dueñas, and the Environment coordinator, Vicente Zavala, are identified.
