Mery Zamora, the former president of the National Union of Educators (UNE) made the official demand yesterday for the disqualification against Judge Hellen Mantilla, who was part of the associate judges room to resolve the appeal of the sentence imposed against the events of September 30, 2010.

After the challenge, the hearing was set for 13:00 yesterday, but was suspended and now it must wait for the Judicial Council to appoint new associate judges.

For the second time the First Criminal Chamber of Guayas suspended the hearing appeal of the judgment, the first was because of the disqualification of Gutenberg Vera Paez.

The Tenth Court of Criminal Warranty of Guayas, sentenced Zamora to eight years in prison for the alleged crime of sabotage and terrorism during the insurrection of the 30S police.
