Mexico is shaken by 6.7 earthquake
Mexico suffered an earthquake of 6.7 magnitude on the Richter scale that was felt in most of the country, as confirmed by the National Seismological Service on their website.
The U.S. Geological Service said that the quake had its epicenter in front of the Pacific coast, in the Guerrero state, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
After the quake, the head of government of the Federal District, Miguel Angel Mancera, reported the activation of the security protocol, which, among other points, includes the International Airport of Mexico City.
In the states of Morelos, State of Mexico, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Puebla and Veracruz, the quake was also felt, so the secretariats of Civil Protection also activated security protocols.
Local media reported that the quake was as strong as in the DF, stopping traffic flow and causing the evacuation of several buildings.
