Yesterday, the military in passive service protested in Guayaquil because they feel that there is a weakening in the Armed Forces and its social security system (ISSFA).

Through a manifest, the provincial front agreed to support the current Military Command and the ISSDA directory. Additionally, they requested that no more land from the Samanes sector should be sold. The fact that 66 lots were sold to the Ministry of Environment is what caused this impasse among the retired military and the Ecuadorian government.

The document also rejects “the pretended confrontation among the troop and the officials, with the intention of undermining the unity of the military”. At last, the collective agreed to keep participating in the protests against the “harassment created by the Government towards the ISSFA”. (I)
