Ministry of Education asks for disciplinary records of students of the Mejia school

Posted On 13 Nov 2014

colegio-mejiaFrancisca Herdoíza, Secretary of Education of the Metropolitan District of Quito, defined as “a misunderstanding” the resignation of the Principal of the Mejía school, Jaime Torres.

Herdoíza said they “trust in the work of those in charge of the educational unit.” In addition, the official ratified the appointment of the Vice President Martin Angulo and the General Inspector of the school, Oscar Caizaluisa.

Jaime Torres was in charge of delivering these days the disciplinary report of the 68 students who participated in the protests on September18.

The pressures received by the Ministry of Education to deliver in a fast way that document motivated Torres to submit his resign.

This document would define whether or not the youth can continue in the school.
