More than 200 detainees in 26 ‘steps’ against crime

A gallery of faces, which includes five police officers on active duty and 205 other civilians (most wanted foreign and domestic criminals); they are part of the 26 ‘Steps’ taken by the authorities in their fight against crime, in the first month of 2016.
The figure is drawn from what could be a sticker album published in the Twitter account of Interior Minister Jose Serrano, through which he illustrates and seals in brief the results of each of the operations that have taken place from 13 to 30 January.
The actions have been implemented, according to data released, in countiess of the Guayas, Pichincha, Los Rios, El Oro, Manabi, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Loja, Carchi, Canar, Esmeraldas, Sucumbíos, Chimborazo and Azuay provinces.
The ‘First Step’ took place in the city of Manta, where 26 alleged members of a criminal gang engaged in crimes of hired killings, extortion, vehicle theft, were arrested. A policeman on active duty was among those arrested.
