More than 200 products would benefit from agreements with Nicaragua and El Salvador

A total of 203 products, mainly ceramics, roses and white goods, will enter Nicaragua and El Salvador with zero tariffs when trade agreements with those nations that were approved yesterday by the Legislature enter into force.
During the debate, Legislator of Alianza PAIS Doris Soliz said that without a trade agreement with Nicaragua, between 2011 and 2015, exports increased by 20%. With the agreement, these would increase by 19%.
Appliances, tuna, wood furniture, fats, confectionery, boxes, carton, and steel products, are some of the items with tariffs of 10% and 15% and would be more favored. Inputs for the industry as scrap, paper and cardboard are imported from Nicaragua.
Meanwhile, with an agreement with El Salvador, 92% of Ecuadorian exports will have a 0% tariff. (I)
