Negotiation of radio spectrum for 4G service would culminate until December

The Minister of Telecommunications, Augusto Espin, expects that the negotiation on the radio spectrum for the use of the 4G service would be settled on December with Movistar and Claro.

“We hope that this year the provision of additional spectrum to operators is implemented,” the authority said.

The Minister added that there are companies interested in participating in the telecommunications sector in Ecuador, mainly in what concerns with mobile virtual network operations. Dialogues with those companies still remain, so he preffered not to give details.
