New shipyards could be located in Posorja or Chaduy

President Rafael Correa emphasized the importance of building new shipyards. In the first phase its location will be identified, that could be the coastal towns of Chanduy or Posorja, because of the water depth.

“The shipyards are a very large potential market that can be made profitable the first five or six years. Therefore, it is urgent to build those shipyards”, Correa said. These would represent an investment of $ 50 million.

The first phase is expected to be ready by 2016.
