NGOs allocate 24 million dollars for the development of Ecuador

Two US and one Swiss NGOs signed agreements with Ecuador to contribute some 24 million dollars in the next four years, the Ecuadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility said in a statement today.
TheSwiss NGO, Terre des Hommes, will contribute $ 841,000 to the country throughwork in the area of juvenile justice and social development in the provinces ofAzuay, Carchi, Esmeraldas, Guayas, Imbabura, Pichincha and Santo Domingo de losTsáchilas.
On theother hand, the American organization Island Conservation, will execute anenvironmental project in the Galapagos Islands valued at more than 1.5 milliondollars and will carry out technical and scientific training for theconservation and sustainable management of the enchanted islands.
The NGO World Vision International, also from the USA, will focus on social assistanceprojects for children and adolescents, as well as strengthening the capacitiesof vulnerable populations and emergencies.
Theirwork will be developed in the provinces of Bolivar, Imbabura, Tungurahua,Manabi, Los Rios, Esmeraldas, Chimborazo and Pichincha, with a contribution tothe country of 21.5 million dollars, through 18 programs according to theirplanning. (I)
