Offshore company of Ecuadorian ambassador purchased properties in Florida
Ecuador’s ambassador in Panama and owner of Radio America Galo Enriquez Enriquez, established the Merivi Corp. company, based in the British Virgin Islands on November 27, 2008. Since that day he was the owner of the offshore company until April 7, 2015, when he transferred the shares to his children.
The establishment of the company and the transfer of his shares are part of the Panama Papers, a leakage of the internal files of the Panamanian firm Mossak Fonseca (MF) published by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).
That investment is not included in two sworn declarations of assets he handed over to the Comptroller General in 2012, to carry out duties in the Chancellery. The Imbabura radio broadcaster (64) is a public official since 2007, when he took over the Consulate of Ecuador in Orlando and West Palm Beach (Florida).
