SRI-ECUADORTIMES

The first installment of the contribution natural persons must pay on their heritage, to finance the reconstruction of the affected provinces after the earthquake of April 16, will not be charged today as established in the Solidarity law but from the third or fourth week of June. The standard establishes, among other contributions, a contribution on heritage of 0.9% when this is equal to or greater than one million dollars.

It also sets a solidarity contribution of 3% on profits and 1.8% of the assessed valuation of properties located in Ecuador and the capital assets of resident companies in Ecuador belonging to a company resident in a tax haven. These contributions can be paid in three monthly installments, from its publication in the Official Gazette, according to the ninth digit of the RUC or the identity card, as set in this law. Thus, the payment of the first installment should be done today.
