Operation Link 51 arrested 44 people

Yesterday morning, the Prosecution together with the police captured 44 people and raided 48 properties in the provinces of El Oro, Manabi and Guayas.

In the operation called Link 51 vehicles, motorcycles, firearms, cell phones and, apparentlydrugs were also seized.

According to the provincial prosecutor of Manabi, Vicente Parraga, three alleged criminal organizations engaged in crimes of usury, extortion and murder were dismantled.

Meanwhile, prosecutor Miguel Velez Leon, who led the operation in Guayaquil, said that ten people were arrested in ten raids for charges of organized crime. This was in the cooperative Juan Montalvo, Bastion Popular, Guasmo and the suburbs.
