Orlando Ibarra talks with Ecuavisa
Tonight, the Ecuadorian and former deputy of PRIAN, Orlando Sigfredo Ibarra Sarmiento, who was kidnapped for more than two years by the National Liberation Army (ELN for its Spanish acronym) arrived to Quito where he finally reunited with his family.
Ibarra told Ecuavisa how he walked for three hours with the guerrilla member, who had cell phone that allowed him to communicate with members of the Colombian Armed Forces that rescued him.
The former PRIAN deputy arrived at 7pm (GMT) to the capital in a commercial flight, where he was accompanied by the police commander. During the press conference he told how he “was without freedom and locked up in a camping, I was chained to go the toilet, I showered chained and during the nights I slept chained or tied up.”
Orlando Ibarra was received by his family and the authorities in the air base. His relatives, specially his daughters, let tears of joy run through their cheeks when they saw his father after being captured in another country. AV
