Paraguay Revokes Lugo’s Trial
Posted On 12 Jul 2012
Yesterday the Supreme Constitutional Chamber of Paraguay admitted the use of an unconstitutional resource presented by the former president Fernando Lugo. The former president seeks the annulment of the political trial that caused his destitution.
With this admission, the Constitutional Chamber begins the process for a second action of unconstitutionality planned by Lugo against the judicial trial that concluded on June 22, and allowed the raise of his vice president Federico Franco.
Victor Nunez, the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, explained that the Constitutional Chamber will have 30 days after receiving the answer of the Public Ministry and the Senate to give a sentence about the case. (AV)
