Parents of arrested students read apology letter to the President
The parents of twelve students from the Tecnologico Superior Central, offered a public apology to the president, Rafael Correa, for the wreckage left by their sons during a protest last Friday.
“We feel very sorry for the acts perpetrated on February 22. As parents of these students we express to the country and people affected that we are sorry and we apologize, aware that what happened was an attitude that goes against the establishment, we appeal to your good heart to find an alternative sanction for the youth”, on the outside of the school.
Among the parents was split the $ 340 of the cost of the broken glass from a home near the institution that was affected in the protest. Young students are still in the Provisional Detention Center.
Monica Franco, Vice Minister of Education Management, still discusses the sanctions for the students, among which are: one month to attend to Virgilio Guerrero counseling center for talks. During the duration of the administrative process, the arrested boys will receive homework and guidance on the academic programs.
