Patiño-CAN-Resolución-116

Ecuador will request to the General Secretariat of the Andean Community (CAN) to reconsider its decision on the standard regulating imports into the country, described by the organism as restrictive, so he gave it a deadline of 15 days to report about the lifting of the measures.

Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño considered it an “improper decision of the Secretary General (Pablo Guzman) and we are requesting reconsideration.”

Patiño pointed out that he will maintain a telephone conversation with Guzman, to verbally let him know his criteria. “We hope that the decision he has taken would be effectively reconsidered”, reiterated the official.

In this context, the Chancellor confirmed last night via Twitter that Guzman “accepted the invitation I made today to come to Ecuador and find reasons to issue Resolution 116”.
