Patiño reviews bilateral relations with Haiti

Patiño-Haití-Relaciones-BilateralForeign Minister Ricardo Patiño is currently visiting Haiti with the purpose of review jointly with the country’s president, Michel Martelly, bilateral relations and the contributions of Ecuador to the process of Haitian reconstruction after the 2010 earthquake.

Within the framework of this meeting, Martelly proposed to its country as the site of the American Commission on Human Rights (ACHR), and emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen the Inter-American Human Rights (ISHR), with the aim of promoting the development of peoples.

Martelly recalled the cooperation of Ecuador to Haiti in the areas of security, infrastructure and health.

“We are delighted that the Corps of Engineers, social area and officials from different sectors (Ecuadorian) are here (in Haiti) to accompany them. On behalf of President Rafael Correa and our people we will be with you,” Patino said Martelly.
