Pedro Delgado Made Penal Charges Against Gaston Duzac

Case COFIEC continues to cause controversy

Yesterday, Pedro Delgado, the representative of Unidad de Gestion de Derecho Publico (Ugedep), presented to Prosecutor of Pichincha a penal charge against the Argentinean Gaston Duzac, the firm Scanbuy and all those involved in the loan of a credit from COFIEC to the businessman.

The charges were delivered to the prosecutor Miguel Jurado and according to Delgado, the Ugedep identified the irregularities in the approval of a credit for a work capital of technological platform, the Money was given to buy shares. “It must be investigated who authorized the change of money’s destiny,” added Delgado.

Another contradiction is in the guarantees, “the bank says that the guarantees were made on his favour and the people of Rocafuerte insurance pointed out that they were never given because Duzac did not order the counter guarantees required for its delivery.”

Against these accusations Duzac said that the loan was going to be paid by Scanbuy. “If they can’t pay, even if I have to sell bananas for the rest of my life, I’ll pay it.” AV
