Philip VI praises Ecuador’s commitment for the dialogue and loyalty to the country

King Philip VI today highlighted the value of “honesty” and “loyalty to the fatherland” among the priorities of the government action of the president of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, whom he also praised for attaching importance “to dialogue and to the search of consensus “as central elements of its policy.
In the toast of the lunch offered at the Royal Palace by Philip of Borbón and Queen Letizia in honor of Moreno and his wife, Rocío González, the Ecuadorian president thanked for his part the “decided support of Spain” to the request so that his compatriots be exempted from the Schengen visa for reasons of tourism, business and cultural interest.
Before a hundred guests from the two countries, including authorities and representatives of business, academic, religious, cultural and communication, the King of Spain paid a “well-deserved tribute” to the 400,000 Ecuadorian immigrants who contribute to the prosperity of the Spanish society with its “effort” and “personal sacrifice”.
In addition to highlighting the “excellent moment” that bilateral relations are going through at the institutional level, Philip VI hoped that “economic cooperation will continue to be strengthened,” in order to reach its full potential, with the help of the Ecuador-EU Multiparty Trade Agreement will begin to apply provisionally from next January 1.
