Three measures have been taken by the Pichincha bank in favor of its 167,000 customers from Manabi and other areas affected by the earthquake of April 16, the institution reported Friday. Debt forgiveness and refinancing of loans, are among the measures.
Indeed, the debts of 42,000 customers, “belonging to low-income segments and owners of small businesses” were removed from the records of the entity. That represents a total amount of $ 16’800.000, as detailed in a statement.
The loans of 125,000 customers in the affected areas will be refinanced and debts will be restructured.
