Posorja changes the regional business
In conversations with Daily Expreso, CEO of DP World Posorja Otto Bottger made it clear: in addition to the port development, we want to develop a logistics zone in an area of about 70 hectares for warehouses and distribution centers. It will also support the development of cargo volume through the port. Maybe we will compete with the free zone of Colon; we can create in Posorja a regional logistics center for distribution in Peru and Chile.”
The idea is to attract ships of up to 15,000 TEUs that currently do not enter to Guayaquil, or elsewhere in Ecuador, and that go to Peru, Chile, or Buenaventura (Colombia). Those ships will load and unload cargo from the Ecuadorian market through Posorja. That is, shipping cargo into smaller boats to these three countries is in the plans of the Dubai company.
