Ukraine withdraws its military troops from Lugansk airport
Ukrainian troops have withdrawn from the international airport of Lugansk, in eastern Ukraine, after keeping fierce fighting with pro-Russian separatists by the enclosure in the last hours.
“The Ukrainian military in front of Lugansk it were ordered and retreated from the Lugansk airport and the town of Gueorguievka” admitted at a press conference the spokesman of the National Security Council and Defense (CSND) from Ukraine Andrei Lysenko.
Earlier, the press center of Ukrainian anti-terrorist operation reported that the paratroopers stationed at the airport were fighting against Russian armored units, reported EFE.
Fights for airport grounds have not stopped since it was taken by the Ukrainian troops last June.
CSND spokesman also reported “heavy concentration of Russian forces near the town of Latugino (in the vicinity of the city of Lugansk) and at the entrances to the city of Schastie”.
