President denounces serious bonding of Armed Forces with Chevron
As a “serious relationship” of an Ecuadorian military company with an oil company Chevron-Texaco, President Rafael Correa said that both institutions signed a contract in 2003 so the first mentioned would give intelligence and protection services to the second.
In his report to the country, held yesterday, the President warned that it will ask the intervention of the Assembly and the Comptroller because it is suspected that embezzlement was committed.
He said that on October 13 of 2003, at the Government of Lucio Gutiérrez, a contract was signed between Rodrigo Pérez, as
Legal Representative of Texaco in Ecuador, and the Colonel Mario Bonilla, as Representative of Sepri S.A., for services of protection and intelligence to Texaco.
To this will be added a cooperation agreement between the fourth division Amazon and the transnational that included building a House. According to Correa, the agreement was actually with Sepri, which is a company of security services of the armed forces, which belongs to the ISSFA since 2010. “This is a disgrace. We demand answers to the Armed Forces. “, although” this may cause a shot to me”, warned Correa.
