The President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, will make his first official visit to Mexico, from August 23 to 26 of this year.

In his trip he seeks to negotiate a commercial agreement and that is one of the possibilities to enter the Pacific Alliance. The negotiations are pending eleven negotiation tables that have to do with market access (all the issue of tariffs), intellectual property, financial issues, investments and other types such as rules of origin and others.

On Monday, August 23 at 12:00, the President will travel from the Guayaquil Military Base to Mexico City. For Tuesday, August 24, President Lasso will participate in the commemorative act for the 200 years of the signing of the Treaties of Córdoba, documents that on August 24, 1821 recognized the independence of Mexico. His Mexican counterpart, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, will also attend this event.
For Wednesday, August 25, Lasso plans to meet with the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (Comce). And his return to Ecuador is scheduled for Thursday, August 26 in the morning. The delegation that will accompany the Head of State on this presidential tour, according to Executive Decree No. 166, is made up of: Foreign Minister Mauricio Montalvo; the Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries, Julio José Prado; the Minister of Telecommunications and the Information Society, Vianna Maino, among other authorities.
